LAS VEGAS – [June 30, 2023] – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has opened a second limited public review for the revised draft IICRC S590 Standard for Standard for Assessing HVAC Systems Following a Water, Fire, or Mold Damage Event. Download the substantive changes made to the draft Standard since the first public review in January/February 2023, and submit your comments online from June 30, 2023 - July 30, 2023, here: https://iicrc.org/s590/.

As part of the ANSI 30-day public review period all comments must be submitted using the online comment form no later than July 30, 2023.

The S590 Standard contains procedures to perform HVAC assessments and create a written report and Remediation Work Plan (RWP) of work for residential, commercial, institutional, and healthcare buildings. The document lists methods and procedures to determine visual deposition and odor retention.
