Dalton—Southern Living magazine has chosen flooring from Shaw Industries to enhance the dcor of the magazines 2007 idea houses in Water Sound, Fla.; Reynolds Plantation, Ga., and Hot Springs, Ark., while Faus has been named as a supplier of high-end laminate flooring to be featured in the 2007 Cottage Living Idea Home located in New Orleans.

Idea houses provide an ideal setting for todays busy consumer to experience Shaw products, said Kathy Young, Shaws creative director. Consumer research reveals the importance of visualization for the female consumer. What better way for her to visualize than to see beautiful Shaw products in Southern Living homes?

The Georgia idea house boasts many elements conducive to the lakeside location. Nestled in a wooded setting among a golf course and other recreational amenities, the home lends plenty of room to outside living with a two-story front porch, outdoor kitchen, private master porch and three large porches on the rear.

The comfort of the outside is carried inside to the master suite with recyclable Anso nylon LCL pattern, Classic Interpretations, from Shaws Inspired Spaces collection. A neutral tone of the fashionable My, My, My shag from the Shaw Tuftex collection and national consumer advertising campaign gives a retro-chic feel to rooms within the home. Rich Masters Mark hardwood is used throughout the main living areas along with Shaw ceramics in the bathrooms and kitchen. The Georgia idea house opened to the public June 16, and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Greene County Habitat for Humanity.

Nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks in the community of Red Oak Ridge, the brick Arkansas idea house was inspired by Georgian and French architecture. The open floor plan with brick archways and a winding staircase reveal luxurious details like a wine closet and large eat-in kitchen. Shaw carpets in taupe tones in the styles Unique Charm and Designers Vision add warmth to the bedrooms. Stylish, recyclable Anso nylon patterned carpet, Backstage, in a green shade, lends a playful feel to the media room. Outdoor living is emphasized at the back of the home with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. The Arkansas idea house opened to the public June 9, and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Charitable Christian Medical Clinic.

Inspired by historic seaside architecture, the Florida idea house is well suited for todays busy family with a multi-functional project room and open living and dining areas for entertaining. Expansive wrap-around porches with deep over-hangings again emphasize the movement to outdoor living. Nature-inspired shades of green carpeting in the styles A-La-Mode and Tuftexs Caliente Prairie cover the bedroom and bunk room floors. The Florida idea house opened to the public on June 16, and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The National Audubon Society. Admission for all Southern Living idea houses is $5.

Faus will be featured in the 2007 Cottage Living Idea Home as the supplier of high-end laminates. The idea home, in New Orleans, opened to the public in July.

Somerset, one of eight new products launching in the Cosmopolitan Collection this summer, was chosen by Holden & Dupuy Interior Design of New Orleans to complete the cottage with their signature style.

Holden & Dupuy selected Faus-floor because of the style and realistic looks found in their products. As general manager Juan Flores noted, Faus feels fortunate to partner with Cottage Living, the first national magazine to break ground in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina. The proceeds from the sale of the home will be given to a local nonprofit, Preservation Resource Center (PRC), and their efforts to rebuild the city.
