Dalton—This year’s LGM Carpet Seminar, held by FCNews ‘Claims’ columnist Lew Migliore, aims to cultivate industry skills, confidence and expertise, helping to give attendees a competitive edge.

The event will take place here on July 11 to 13, and will feature such topics as: Carpet Construction; Industry Standards; Carpet Fibers & Their Characteristics; Carpet Yarn Manufacturing; Dyeing Processes; Tufting Processes; Carpet Finishing/Backing Systems; Installation; Adhesives; Maintenance; Testing Methods; Chemicals and Machines, and an Industry Overview.

“The seminars will place emphasis on explaining the technical aspects of the industry and address new developments and their effects on carpet,” said Migliore. “The information presented is impartial, objective and unbiased—giving participants the necessary facts to more fully understand the product and make better and more profitable business decisions.”

He noted all sessions are recognized and approved for continuing education units (CEUs).

On July 12, following two educational sessions, participants will have the opportunity to see the manufacturing process up close through a series of mills tours.

“These tours will bring to life the information learned in the classroom,” he explained.
