Las Colinas, Tex.—Carpet Mills of America,
one of the country’s largest retail operations with 50 stores throughout Texas
and Arizona, recently paid tribute to some of its best supporters at its annual
awards banquet held at the Omni Manadalay Hotel here. People at all levels of
the company, including salespeople, installers, operators and suppliers were
recognized during the event, which also featured a keynote address by Jim
Walker, CEO of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association
(CFI). Rasmi Almallah, president of Carpet Mills of America, said the retailer
is able to hold the banquet each year due to the success and support “of the
good people who worked hard to build the company.” He also emphasized his
philosophy of teamwork remains strong. In fact, Almallah said the management
team is committed to create a system in which sales, installation, service and
manufacturers are equally important and balance each other to provide the best
product in the business. “Teamwork is the only way to achieve this.”
Walker praised Almallah and the entire company
for acknowledging the work of its installers, noting how few companies recognize
their mechanics’ achievements, let alone honor them with awards. In addition
to giving its installers rewards, he said, Carpet Mills of America requires all
of its mechanics to have CFI certification. “And, I am proud to announce that
53 installers have already been certified. That’s a great achievement in its
own right and something to be proud of.” Walker noted how the company’s
commitment to quality installation is one of the reasons it is so highly
respectable not only in the communities it serves, but throughout the industry.
Best suppliers; Waleed Almallah, vice president of Carpet Mills of America,
congratulates Randy Ludwig of LDBrinkman as one of the suppliers of the year,
while Rasmi Almallah, president of the dealership, recognizes Gordon Roundtree
of Beaulieu of America, as the other supplier of the year. Best employee; Carl
Johnson, was honored by the Almallahs as Carpet Mills of America’s
employee of the year. Best speaker; Rasmi Almallah thanks CFI’s Jim Walker for
his informative and inspirational speech during the awards banquet.
