SAN DIEGO—Floor Excellence 2007, the annual installation spring training showcase, takes place April 14. Hosted by the San Diego County Floor Covering Association (SDCFCA), the event is being held at the Mission Valley Hilton Hotel here and will focus on education for all areas of installation.

With invites extended to installers, retailers, contractors, distributors, inspectors and manufacturers, this year’s affair is structured around four rotating sessions:

• Wood—Tricks of Board Replacement
• Vinyl—The Art of Seam Welding
• Carpet—Pattern Tolerances, Pattern
Count and Pattern Alignment
• Tool and Tile Expo.

“As one of the few events focused on installation that is presented by a floor covering association, this is one that everybody in the flooring community should attend,” explained Jim Walker, CEO of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI).

The event costs $45 for members with a 20% discount for groups of five or more and $50 for non-members.
