Racine, Wis.—As is the trend recently,
laminate producer Alloc is expanding its product offering into the field of
engineered hardwood flooring. The initial collection has five species of
hardwood: oak, maple, cherry, beech and merbau. It is available in different
grades and tones to match a variation of interiors, and is offered in the
traditional long strip size of 8-ft. and a short plank version of 47-in.
The installation of Alloc Wood is as easy as
the now well-known patented methods of Alloc’s Original, Home Flooring, Tile
and Commercial lines, noted Claes Wennerth, Alloc’s president. “The floating
floor installation technique with the mechanical locking system, when compared
with regular hardwood flooring, is estimated to save installation time by 50% to
70%. “In addition,” he said, “the product will align perfectly due to
precision joint milling, eliminate the need for messy glue application and clean
up, and can be taken up and reinstalled with ease for redecoration or repair
purposes. You can even take it with you when you leave.”
Alloc Wood is a prefinished product using a
multiple layered surface application technique named Life-strong. Accessories to
the line include matching moldings, Alloc Rapid Roll standard underlayment and
Alloc Quiet Care acoustical underlayment. The product is manufactured for Alloc
by its sister company in France, Berry Wood, which has numerous years of
experience in the European market for engineered hardwood flooring, solids and
parquet. The product features a three- and five-layered construction for
strength and flexibility, and the mechanical locking system is produced under
license of the Valinge Aluminum AB patents. “The Alloc Wood collection is a
beautiful high quality addition to our line that will give the hardwood flooring
installer, buyer and user the convenience and benefits already enjoyed by the
Alloc laminate flooring customers,” said Wennerth. “Our wood line will be
distributed by Alloc distribution partners throughout North America,”
concluded Shane Calloway, Alloc’s national sales manager. For more information
