Hakatai Online Glass Tile Design Tool Created For Architects & Homeowners
Article Number: 1474

Hakatai Enterprises, Inc., importers and distributors of glass tile, recently added a new feature to its innovative and customer friendly website: the “combined” custom blend tool and the “combined” custom gradient tool. These online design tools allow users to create stylish glass tile blends and gradients from a wide variety of luminous color options to enhance any commercial or residential space.

Not only have Hakatai’s new online tools expanded the creative control of architects, designers and homeowners by offering the ability to combine tile palettes from every glass tile series with the same dimensions, but they provide the ability for immediate pricing and ordering. Simply go to www.hakatai.com to create, price and order a glass tile blend or gradient to match any project color scheme or design.

One option with the new design tools is to create beautiful blend or gradient combinations using all three ¾” x ¾” Cartglass glass tile series. Combining the top-selling Classic series, with the unique opalescent palette of the Luster series and the rich, nature-inspired colors of the Aventurine series can revitalize any bath or kitchen with depth and vibrancy.

The new design tools also allow customers to utilize the shade variances and subtle sheen of the rough-cut 1” x 1” Ashland series, by blending the non-iridescent “solid” colors with the “iridescent” colors to create blends and gradients exuding stylish rustic charm. Or for a surface of modern chic and elegance, choose from 42 colors within the 5/8” x 5/8” Saix Fantastix series to create a blends and gradients of iridescent luxury.

The combined custom blend tool provides customers with endless color options, by selecting a tile size and palette, toggling back and forth between tile series within the same dimensions, dragging and dropping up to 24 chosen tile colors and specifying the percentages of each color to be blended. Increasing and decreasing the percentages of each color controls the intermittence of that color in the final tile blend and clicking “remix” reveals the random combinations of the tile colors selected.

The combined custom gradient tool works similar to the blend tool and allows experimentation with gradient height and tile color order within multiple palettes, again from within the same-sized glass tile. Gradient designs can be created in a variety of different ways which are displayed on the homepage of this tool and can be installed horizontally or vertically.

Both of the new online design tools allow users to experiment with many different sample grout colors, to see how the color of grout affects the overall look of the blend or gradient. Hakatai does not sell grout or setting material, but they do offer a list of manufacturers.

After the blend or gradient design has been finalized, the price quote is obtained by entering the number of square feet (or sheets) needed for the project. A PDF of the design is available for printing. The appropriate zip code is entered to obtain a shipping quote and then the customer can complete and submit their order online.

Each sheet within a custom blend or gradient measures 1.15 sq. ft. and is mounted with clear film on the face of the tile. For gradients, sheets are labeled in the upper left hand corner for easy installation and an installation guide is included. With any custom blend or custom gradient order, there is a 2-4 week production lead time from the point of Hakatai receiving the 50% deposit. This does not include shipping time.

As depicted in the image above, 50 percent of the Cartglass Classic color “Washed Denim" and 50 percent of the Cartglass Luster color "Provence" were combined, to produce a striking blend with opalescent highlights.
