Article Number: 1310

Lake Zurich, Ill.—The Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA) recently awarded Carl and Edgar Anstett with the association’s most prestigious honor as Hall of Fame inductees. As co-designers and developers of power nailing and cleat technology, the Anstett brothers were honored for their important contributions to the wood flooring industry.

The brothers are both deceased, Carl having passed away this year. Edgar passed away in February of 2001.

The Anstetts, both tool and die makers, founded the Powernail Co. in 1946 and received a patent on the first Powernail wood floor nailing machine and the Powercleat nail the following year. The company recently moved to a larger facility in Lake Zurich, Ill., and is now owned and managed by Carl’s sons, Tom and David Anstett.
