MOHAWK NAMES MATTHAIDESS TO NEW VP POSITION

DALTON (August 14, 2006)—Brad Matthaidess has been named Senior Vice President, Mohawk Aligned and Builder Programs for the Mohawk Residential Business, a newly created position.

In his new responsibility, Matthaidess will handle overall managerial responsibility for all Mohawk Aligned dealer programs such as Mohawk Floorscapes, Mohawk ColorCenter , and Mohawk Floorz, as well as overall responsibilities for the Builder and Multi-Family sales channel efforts.

Previously, Matthaidess was Regional Vice President for Mohawk Residential Flooring’s Southeast and Southwest regions. His time with Mohawk spans 18-years primarily in sales and sales management positions. Larry Brookshire, a 12-year veteran of Mohawk, will take over Matthaidess’ position in the Southeast, reporting to Gary Hollowell.

Manny Llerena, Vice President Retail Marketing, and Bill Kennedy, National Director of Builder Programs and their teams, will report to Matthaidess.

“These two business segments presently account for over $1.5 billion in annual Mohawk sales and represent the single largest channel of growth opportunity for the residential business,” said Tom Lape, President of Mohawk’s Residential Division. “We are pleased to bring Brad’s proven management skills to this effort, as demonstrated by his successful results in the Southeast and, more recently, the improved results of our Southwest region.”

A graduate of University of Nebraska, Matthaidess resides in the Acworth, GA area with his wife, Terry and son, Cole.
