SUGAR VALLEY, GA— Mohawk Select’s Summer introductions promise to help dealers move even more rugs out of their stores.

Mohawk Select’s new Passport Collection features rich, traditional oriental and transitional styling within a lush and versatile color palette.

“Our customer base has done well with our modern and casual designs, so we felt a need to bring in some proven traditional designs, especially with this beautiful updated palette. When we saw the results, we were very excited,” said David Moyer, Sales and Product Manager for Mohawk Select.

The Passport collection utilizes a unique nylon yarn system that blends shades of color into multiple tones, with the feature colors of rich red and soft blue working in harmony with multiple golden tones and mossy greens. “Blue is an important color to get correct, and this new blue color really comes to life when coupled with the other colors in the collection,” Moyer added.

In addition to an ultra soft surface and durable pile, each of the designs is enhanced with a unique artist’s “brushstroke” effect incorporated into the weaving process. The effect creates striations in the pattern that look almost as if an artist applied a few hand-painted finishing touches to the design.

Two new styles are particularly noteworthy. Anacapri features a creative new pattern made of multiple border designs, with a large center floral border. It was inspired by the current movement toward the crafted casual style. The colors in this design include rich red tones, golden browns and sand, and a soft blue color that provides the perfect accent color. The artist’s brush stroke effect is incorporated throughout the design, which is made from 100% durable nylon pile with an ultra soft surface.

A second new style, Southampton, showcases multi tones of golden brown, light sand, and mossy greens, featured in this Asian-inspired design, which has the ability to transform a room into a serene oasis or a casual retreat. The design also uses the artist’s brush stroke effect to accent its sand-colored background, which enhances the long stems and leaf details, bringing life to the pattern.

The rugs in the Passport Collection are currently available in two sizes: 5’3” x 7’10” and 8’ x 11’. The suggested retail for the 5’3” x 7’10” is $299.

The Mohawk Select rug brand is geared toward independent floorcovering dealers, specialty stores, and furniture retailers. Price points are focused at $199 and $299 for 6’ x 9’ size rugs, and there are more than 150 choices designed to meet virtually any consumer’s style and color desires.
