Kaindl Selects Green To Head Distribution
Article Number: 1123

Cranford, N.J.—Sam Green has joined laminate maker Kaindl USA to the newly created position of director of sales for Kaindl One distribution.

Steve Mone, president, said Green’s “primary mission” will be to establish and develop an American distribution network to handle Kaindl One, the brand launched by the manufacturer earlier this year ( FCNews, Jan. 23/30).

“This appointment supports our stated philosophy about the importance of the distributor and
the retailer,” said Mone. “Kaindl One provides perspectives in profitability built on innovative laminate fashions and superior, differentiated choices.”

Green comes to Kaindl with nearly 40 years of sales, distribution and brand development experience as well as knowledge in the laminate category. The industry veteran was most recently director of laminate sales for Kronotex. He has also worked for Mohawk Industries, Blue Ridge Mills, Meyer Laminates and as vice president of sales for Suncraft Mills.

“Kaindl recognizes the importance and power of a brand at the distribution and retail levels,” Mone added, “and the Kaindl One direct-to-distributor/retailer approach builds in even higher margins leading in turn to higher levels of profitability.”

He noted how Kaindl, one of the world’s leading laminate makers, has put together a collection of 50 decors especially selected for the American consumer in better, best and luxury categories. Its family of products feature “the most popular fashions in wood, slate and ceramic tile. And all are triple patent protected.”

By that Mone means in addition to its own patents, license agreements have been signed with both Unilin and Välinge Aluminium, holders of the world’s two most widely used patents for mechanical locking systems. The deal makes any Kaindl product free of any possible patent infringement.

At the same time it was making sure the consumer is satisfied, Kaindl structured a program to meet the needs of U.S. distributors and retailers. In fact, he concluded, one of Green’s main tasks “will be to ensure the distributor and retailer are priority one.”
