Bologna, 29 September 2017 - Abitare la Terra, by Cerasarda, designed by ceramist Maria Luisa Brighenti, won this year's ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award 2017@Cersaie, during the exhibition at Bologna. The award, sponsored by ADI (the Industrial Design Association) and Cersaie (the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings) recognises the most innovative Italian ceramic products showcased at the exhibition.

The commission, composed of Carlo Branzaglia (President, ADI Emilia-Romagna), Oscar Colli (editor of Il bagno oggi e domani) and Silvia Stanzani (designer), together with Emilio Mussini (President of Promotional Activities, Confindustria Ceramica), awarded seven prizes which also pre-select the products for the prestigious ADI Design Index 2018, the annual ADI catalogue of the best Italian designs manufactured in the year previous to its publication, selected by the Association's design observatory.

Abitare la Terra inaugurates the Cerasarda Design section: the product employs a whole range of ceramic treatments to provide an exceptional degree of modularity, almost like a patchwork, as a homage to the traditions which govern all the brand's products. The collection is inspired by the warm, generous soil of Sardinia - an unprecedented collection of exceptional materiality, featuring harmonious colours and contrasts and exclusive decorative textures. A highly original ceramic proposal which marries craftsmanship - the designer's characteristic handmade approach is the perfect match for Cerasarda's traditions - with Gruppo Romani's cutting edge technologies.
