Dalton— Bob Leahy has been named senior vice president, hard surface, for Mohawk Industries residential strategic business unit. Leahy replaces Bob Weseman, who passed away last summer ( FCNews, July 11/18, 2005).

Leahy, currently vice president of home center services at Daltile, has worked for Daltile for more than 20 years. He began as an architectural representative in Northern California, advancing through the company to become sales service center manager, area manager and national accounts manager, where he played a key role in the development of the company’s home center business segment.

In his new position, Leahy will be responsible for overall business of the hard surface residential products offering under the Mohawk brand. He will report to Tom Lape, president of Mohawk’s residential strategic business unit.

“This segment continues to represent the most significant growth opportunity for the Mohawk residential strategic business unit and Bob’s experience and expertise in this area will be integral to our success,” said Lape. “He will be working closely with the residential sales group in developing and refining the sales and marketing strategies of our hard surface business.”

Leahy will be relocating from Dallas, Tex., to Calhoun, Ga.
