Palm Desert, Calif.—
Flooring Plus and AVB/Brand Source have formed a partnership in order to increase members’ volume and profitability as well as provide them with “Whole Home” solutions for their customers.
The rollout involves 314 Flooring Plus retailers in three distributor markets, primarily in the upper Midwest and Northeast. The three distributors involved are
Belknap White Alcco,
J.J. Haines and
Ohio Valley Flooring.
AVB is a 37-year-old merchandising group consisting of 2,500 storefronts which offer appliances, home electronics and furniture. It is headquartered in Anaheim, Calif., and is comprised of Brand Source, Sleep Source, Home Entertainment Source, Gourmet Source and Home Rental Source.
“We are very excited about joining up with the AVB team,” noted Charlie Parsons, executive director of Flooring Plus. “The whole home concept and the idea of creating a co-market entity with other AVB divisions is the kind of unique positioning we were looking for.”
With this move, Flooring Plus members will be able to take advantage of AVB’s various programs including marketing and advertising services, health benefits and retail financing. “This alliance will allow us to enhance several of our programs and add new ones that will raise the bar significantly for our members,” said Parsons.
Additionally, AVB will be launching Whole Home Source and wholehomesource.com, to convey to consumers that this is a one-stop-shop for appliances, electronics, home furnishings and flooring, noted Bob Lawrence, executive director of AVB. “The opportunity to offer consumers a Whole Home solution creates a tremendous competitive advantage for both member groups,” he said. “With the addition of Flooring Plus, we no longer have to send our customers to competitors for items we do not carry.”
