Alloc will not only be launching several products at Surfaces ’06, the laminate manufacturer is also using the market to give away “at least four” trips to Scandinavia. First the products. Alloc is enhancing a number of its lines, including Basic, Domestic and Original. Claes Wennerth, president, said the new offerings are a direct result of “ever-improving technology and product development.
“Alloc is always improving its product designs,” he added. “We have the best of both worlds—true wood looks combined with the superior durability of laminate. We never compromise style or performance.”
Two designs are being added to the Basic line-up. Wennerth noted Cognac Merbau and Liberty Oak feature authentic shades with strong appeal for the residential market.
Additionally, Alloc is unveiling two finishes and enhanced textures for two existing finishes in its Domestic collection. The new finishes, Oak Plank Red and Oak Plank Natural, feature four-sided beveled edges and “distinctive, heavy wood structures,” he explained. Also, the texture on both the Lovely Oak and Traditional Oak finishes is now enhanced “for heightened authenticity and styling. This improved texture cap-tures the warmth and nuances of true wood, which is of great importance for today’s residential customers.”
Along with these new products, Alloc said five designs will be added to the Original line by the third quarter.
“These unique, commercial-grade products are among Alloc’s most innovative,” Wennerth said, “as they feature handscraped styles and the distinctive TimberView line.”
Also, the mill is increasing its Woodstrip product offerings from four to eight finishes. “The addition reflects the success of this exclusive product line,” he added. Wood-strip planks are extra long to reflect a true wood plank.
Alloc’s Surfaces booth will be buzzing with more than new products as the company pays homage to both product and its corporate homeland through an exclusive market-only promotion.
The week-long trips for two include stops in Denmark, Norway and Sweden and are timed to coincide with Sweden’s popular mid-summer festival in June. Also, because Alloc is going to use 2006 to focus strongly on its Commercial collection, which is manufactured in Lyngdal, Norway, the trip includes a tour of the Norwegian factory to give attendees a close-up look at how this unique product is made.
The reason why this promotion takes winners throughout Scandinavia has to do with Alloc’s corporate parent—the Berry Group, a conglomerate with facilities throughout the region.
Alloc will accept trip registrations throughout Surfaces with the winners being selected immediately following the show.
To make room for the additional products it is bringing on line, Alloc recently completed a 75,000-sq.-ft. expansion to its warehouse facility located with its American manufacturing plant in Racine. The state-of-the-art facility can accommodate train conveyance through the building, which is an enhancement to the previous rail accessibility for the transport of raw materials and finished goods.
“We are experiencing strong growth,” Wennerth said, “and this expansion is just one of the many positive things happening in our company.”
