Aurora, Colo.—BonaKemi USA, manufacturer of hardwood floor finishing and floor care products, announced plans for a new waterborne hardwood floor finish manufacturing facility in the U.S. The multi-million dollar plant will most likely be located in the Southeastern region, noted Ron Peden, the company’s president and CEO.

“A new Bona training center for our sanding and finishing schools will be included as part of our ongoing commitment to education in the industry,” he added. “The U.S. plant is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year and will serve all of North America as well as supplement production of our corporate headquarters in Malmö, Sweden,” said Peden.

Currently, the majority of BonaKemi’s waterborne finishes are shipped worldwide from its Sweden-based facility. In addition, the production plant will enable the manufacturer to provide UV coatings for North American mills of prefinished wood flooring. “We are always looking to maximize operational efficiencies to stay ahead of current demand,” concluded Peden.
