| | Vicksburg, Miss.—Capella Wood Floors has unveiled Age-Crafted Floors, a distinctive hand-hewn floor featuring a distressed finish. Age-Crafted floors will be available in three different species: Pecan, Walnut and Cherry, each 3/4-in. thick with a 1/6-in. thick wear layer. All planks will be five inches wide.
Customers will be able to choose from six colors: Natural Cherry, Natural Walnut, Natural Pecan, Caramel Pecan, Plum Pecan and Chocolate Pecan. Like all Capella products, Age-Crafted has been constructed for superior strength, noted Jeff Cloer, the company’s vice president of sales. “We have perfected a process that produces a rich aged look,” he said.
“It gives rooms a warm, comfortable, lived-in feel. At the same time, the colors and species we offer will enhance any decor. Actually, we’re giving customers an opportunity to have a floor with a classic aged appearance without having to wait 20 or 30 years.”
Cloer pointed out that every floor will be unique. “Each plank is done by hand—it’s the only way to accomplish the seasoned, distressed look that makes Age-Crafted so special. Of course, this makes every plank different and gives each customer a beautiful floor that is truly one-of-a-kind.”
Cloer said Capella’s new offering raises the standard for a product of this type because of its longer length, thicker wear layer, full warranty and flexible installation options. Specifically, Capella distinguishes itself with:
• Lifetime structural warranty;
• 25-year finish warranty;
• Longer average length than most competitors;
• A full 3/4-in. thich plank—not the 1/2-in. thickness of most competitors;
• A beefy 1/6-in. thick wear layer, rather than a thin top wear surface;
• Ability to glue, nail or staple to subfloors, even though it is 3/4-in. thick;
• Installation on, above or even below grade;
• Less acclimation time, which translates into quicker installation, and
• Manufactured entirely in the United States for quicker deliveries and solid manufacturer backup and support.
As is the case with all Capella products, Age-Crafted Floors will have a tongue and groove system engineered for quick, easy installation over different subfloors, noted Cloer.
