Article Number: 6972

(TORONTO, ON—SEPTEMBER 27, 2011)—InterfaceFLOR took home five IIDEX/ NeoCon Innovation Awards, including Gold in the Sustainable Products category for Striation™, a new modular carpet tile produced from yarn that is created from salvaged fishing nets plus reclaimed fiber from the company’s own ReEntry® recycling process. The other four honors, also announced last week during IIDEX/NeoCon Canada, included Silver for both Red Carpet Collection and its Silurian™/Matrix™ pairing, and Bronze awards for Permian™ and Raw™. This quartet of winners won in the Modular Carpet category.

“It’s truly an honor to be recognized as a leader in developing products that are both beautiful and sustainable,” said Peter Greene, vice president of marketing for InterfaceFLOR . “These awards are proof that we can continue to introduce uncompromising designs while moving towards Mission Zero, our promise to eliminate any negative environmental impact by 2020. We’re especially proud to be cited for such a wide breadth of product, including three lines introduced at IIDEX—the first time InterfaceFLOR has had a North American debut of product at this show.”

The Innovation Awards are presented by the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), and Merchandise Mart Properties (Canada) Inc, which engaged a diverse group of judges from design, media and business backgrounds, to select this year’s 50 winners. InterfaceFLOR’s five winning entries were selected for pioneering design, construction and groundbreaking sustainability, as noted at the September 21 awards ceremony.
