Oct. 25, 2010 (Baar, Switzerland) –
Pergo, the inventor and leading manufacturer of laminate flooring, filed a patent infringement lawsuit on Oct. 19 in the Düsseldorf Regional Court against German-based Dekor-Kunststoffe GmbH (DKB), a large coated-paper manufacturer. A judicial search order of DKB’s production facilities confirmed that DKB utilizes the technology protected by Pergo’s patents.
This particular patent concerns the manufacture of laminate floors featuring a special scratch protection coating marketed by Pergo under the brand name TitanX™ Advanced Surface Technology. This invention is one of Pergo’s almost 500 pending and issued patents protected around the world.
Pergo has prepared further measures to protect the rights to its extensive patent families, with the goal of developing an active role in marketing special patents to improve the technical standards of laminate flooring.
