The patent, DE 10 2004 055 951, is based on an application filed in 2004 and was granted on August 12, 2010. This significant patent relates to joint systems utilizing a separate tongue-element which shifts into a locking position after installation, such as those that are pushed from the side.

When taken in combination with Pergo's other early fundamental patents covering the vast majority of current Fold Down systems, this patent expands Pergo's preeminent market position for its PerfectFold designs and those of its licensees.
