Arley’s eighth Expo a record breaker - Over 250 customers, 30 factory reps attend event

SCRANTON, PA.—Another sign the economy is picking up was seen last month in northeast Pennsylvania as a record number of people and suppliers turned out for Arley Wholesale’s 8th Annual Tile & Stone Exposition.

The third-generation, family-owned distributor hosted more than 250 dealers, retailers, designers and contractors along with over 30 factory representatives from some of the world’s top tile and stone manufacturers for three days of learning, networking and business.

Each supplier was set up in fully-installed vignettes to showcase the latest tile and stone designs available for Arley customers, noted Scott Levy, Arley’s executive vice president of operations.

He added the trade show is actually part of a three-day program that began with meetings and ends with the Arley Golf Classic followed by a dinner.

Levy called the event an “extension of the core values responsible for the uncommon connection and loyalty between Arley and its dealer network. Built on service, selection and stability, Arley’s continued success comes through a partnership approach that blurs the divide between family, employee, supplier and customer.”

Jeff Halasy, owner of Renaissance Ceramic Tile & Marble in Horsham, Pa., could not agree more. “People buy from people; Arley is a family-run business that’s well known for its partnership approach. It selects the right products, develops the right programs and gives us the support we need to go beyond the showroom. In the end it’s all about people, products and service, and Arley is very good at it.”

Antoinette Marsilio, showroom manager for Mohawk Tile & Marble Distributors, said, “It starts with the whole family-feel [Arley] puts out there. Arley offers such a wide variety of tile and stone. And the sales team goes way beyond the call of duty. They deliver to us twice a week. But if we needed it in five days they would do that.”

While the three-day expo is billed as a time to celebrate success achieved through long-term relationships, Levy said it also gives the company a chance to let customers know “we offer products and services they can’t get elsewhere.”
