LATICRETE Sponsored Jr. Dragster Driver Takes 2nd Place in Nationals
Article Number: 5441

LATICRETE, a global leader in the manufacturing of innovative systems for the installation of tile and stone, has been sponsoring the junior comp dragster race car of 17-year-old Bruce Adsero since the 2008 season. The LATICRETE sponsorship for the son of Blake Adsero, president of long-time Seattle-based LATICRETE distributor Master Wholesale, Inc, helped produce the first driver from Division 6 in the history of the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League to reach the final race for the national championship. With his All American Harley Davidson Powered Jr. Comp dragster still in the shop under repair, Bruce Adsero hopped into a borrowed car and took second place in the national championship race held on July 25, 2010, at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colorado.

Representing Bremerton Raceway just outside of Seattle and dragcar.com, Adsero’s regular LATICRETE sponsored dragster built and maintained by master builder Phil McGee from McGee Racing Cams, was under repair and the Kennedy High School (Burien, WA) junior somehow still managed to finish second in the national championship race behind the wheel of a car he had driven only three times. Adsero, now in his sixth season competing in the NHRA Drag Racing tour, will continue his promising career next season with hopes of capturing the final checkered flag of the schedule and becoming the first Jr. dragster racing champion ever to hail from Division 6.

“A few years ago David Rothberg decided LATICRETE would help sponsor my son’s Jr. comp dragster car and now we have good news to share,” said Blake Adsero. “Bruce (Adsero) became the first driver from the NHRA Northwest Division 6 to reach the finals of the national championship race. Bruce placed second overall in a borrowed car he only drove a few time before the actual race. His car broke down the week before and could not be repaired in time. We would like to thank LATICRETE and all of his sponsors for their help. He hopes to return next year and win the championship.”
