Anderson Hardwood Floors: Delivering the value without sacrificing the look
Article Number: 4932

Floor Covering News doles out its annual Award of Excellence to the manufacturers that retailers identify as best helping them in running a successful, profitable business based on the service, management responsiveness, product value and design, and, most importantly, ease of doing business. Anderson Hardwood Floors was proud to be selected for this honor in 2009.

The last two years have been difficult for everyone in the floor covering supply chain, so winning this award is a good indication Anderson has been doing the right things to help their customers through these tough times. That means while the company introduced innovative products like Exotic Impressions Classic and Exotic Impressions Handscraped with PermaColor, it also brought competitive new promotional products to market that deliver the true value that today’s smart shoppers demand.

Today’s consumers have not surrendered their good taste just because the economy is depressed. The upscale buyer still wants a luxury look; they just want the look for less. They know right now they have buying power and are exercising it.

Anderson has responded to this trend with new products like Anderson Harbor Town and Appalachian Fairview Plank—red oak, 3/8-inchthick, 3-inch-wide, 3-ply products in the market’s best selling colors: honey, gunstock and saddle.

Anderson has also introduced a luxury-looking, random-width, red oak product called Anderson Gnarly Plank, a 3/8-inch-thick, 5-ply in random 3-, 5- and 7-inch planks with grain enhancements and distressing. The product is available in four fashion colors: Cocoa Beach, a coffee hue; La Jolla, a medium brown; Huntington, a honey brown; and Waimea Bay, a light umber.

The most recent introductions, Anderson Chaparral and Appalachian Camino Real, are red oak, 3/8-inch-thick, 5-inch-wide, 3-ply handscraped planks offered in honey, gunstock and saddle, both designed to compete with the most competitively priced imports.

Anderson believes the current economy has created a paradigm shift in consumer attitudes toward their homes. People want to fall back in love with the homes they have. They are asking, “What can I do to make my home special again?” Flooring is a great place to start and Anderson, by offering retailers once-in-a-lifetime values, is striving to deliver the best solutions to running a successful, profitable business operation for the second year in a row.
