W.F. Taylor: Taking pride in being ahead of the curve
Article Number: 4896

W.F. Taylor is recognized as a technology leader in the flooring adhesives industry and has a long history of addressing issues well ahead of its competition. Taylor led the industry as the first company to focus on and offer a complete line of solvent-free adhesives. Many companies loosely claim their adhesives are green, but Taylor is the only flooring adhesives company to have its entire product line tested and certified by the GreenGuard Environmental Institute as safe for the environment, thereby meeting LEED criteria, ensuring good indoor air quality.

Recognizing the need for solvent-free and isocyanate-free wood flooring adhesives, Taylor applied its patented Meta-Tec technology to the task and introduced Taylor 2071 Tuff-Lok XLink Wood Flooring Adhesive nearly a decade ago. This revolutionary ultra high performance product was the most advanced wood flooring adhesive to be offered to the industry and quickly took its place as the leading non-urethane wood flooring adhesive, replacing difficult-to-use urethanes in many instances.

Taylor 2071 is a high solids, cross-linking amide-ester-acrylate resin-based adhesive for the installation of all types of wood flooring. It is solvent free, contains no hazardous ingredients, cleans up easily and is very installer friendly. The product is rebondable, has excellent green grab and rapidly builds to a very high strength but resilient waterproof bond.

Taylor continued its commitment to the wood flooring industry and the environment in 2006 with the development of Taylor MS-Plus Wood Flooring Adhesive. MS-Plus features the same patented Meta-Tec technology as Taylor 2071 but incorporates modified silane polymer into the product to create a 100% solids, solvent-free, water-free and isocyanate-free adhesive. The dual curing systems of the Meta-Tec cross-linking chemistry and the moisture curing modified silane polymer create a unique product that has excellent green grab; rapidly builds into a high-strength, elastic, waterproof bond; and cleans up easily.

An added bonus of the MS-Plus is it has excellent moisture-barrier and sound-deadening properties. Using the Taylor Glide-On trowel to apply the moisture and sound deadening barrier with the installation adhesive in one easy coat, the floor is protected from moisture vapor transmission, meets IIC & STC building code requirements for sound reduction and provides an excellent installation for all types of wood and bamboo flooring.

Taylor 2071 and MS-Plus are the only Green-Guard-certified wood flooring adhesives on the market today.
