NEW YORK—Restoration by Costikyan, one of the leading companies in the care, restoration and cleaning of rugs and tapestries, has purchased the Chatalbash Rug Co., a supply house for Oriental rug and carpet materials.

The new company, Chatalbash by Costikyan, “will offer a wealth of experience and outstanding customer service by combining the expertise of four generations of the Costikyan family with three generations of the Chatalbash family,” said Phillip Costikyan, owner.

Ron and Doris Chatalbash, the principals of the Chatalbash Rug Co., will join the new company and will “continue to provide the excellent service for which they are renowned,” he explained.

In addition to its cleaning and fiber protection products, Chatalbash by Costikyan will carry an expanded line of rug and carpet supplies including rolls of wrapping paper and plastic tubing, environmentally friendly non-slip padding by Jade Industries and Appleton Wool.

The company will also feature an exclusive line of cotton Oriental rug fringes manufactured in the U.S. Continuing its distribution of Michael Halebian products, Chaltalbash by Costikyan will also add Halebian’s complete line of hardwood and tile surface products to its mix.

In addition, Chatalbash by Costikyan will become a full-line distributor for Masterblend, carrying the company’s complete line of rug, carpet and upholstery cleaning supplies.

“This venture will make it possible for Costikyan to provide the customer with all the elements necessary in the quality care and restoration of their rugs and tapestries,” Costikyan said.
