SHANGHAI, CHINA—Lamett recently celebrated the opening of a new laminate manufacturing plant here. The two-million-square-foot facility is on the same site as the company’s new wood mill which opened in July.

Thomas Baert, president, said the new facility “brings a new era to Lamett. Both wood and laminate will now be produced in the same place, allowing for a monthly production of over 10 million square feet by the end of 2009. Our vertical integration creates economies of scale and streamlines our production process.”

Perry Coker, president of Lamett North America, added, “Despite challenging times globally, Lamett enjoyed tremendous growth in 2008, and we are budgeting for growth in 2009. We know that Lamett is well-positioned in our product assortments and to add value to all our distributor partners.”
