Dalton—Shaw has expanded its Environmental Guarantee to all corners of the globe. The 10-year-old program pledges the mill will take back its tile and broadloom products backed with EcoWorx at the end of their useful lives and recycle them back into new EcoWorx carpet backing.

Tim Baucom, Shaw’s vice president of commercial sales and marketing, said the decision to take the guarantee global comes in response to growing demand from worldwide customers for help closing the loop with carpet reclamation and recycling.

Rick Ramirez, vice president of sustainability, added, “Cradle-to-cradle products such as EcoWorx, are designed to be collected, deconstructed and remanufactured back into new product. Extending the guarantee ensures customers have an economically and environmentally viable alternative.”

Baucom noted as Shaw’s global presence expands, “so have the needs of our customers. Questions regarding a product’s sustainability are not limited to the U.S.”
