Marvin Baron, National sales manager
Article Number: 3591

FANWOOD, N.J.—Marvin Baron, devout industry member who worked in sales, passed away July 19 in Scotch Plains, N.J. He was 66.

Born in Newark, N.J., Baron entered the industry as a sales manager for Mercer Plastics and later took a position with APM (Arnold Precision Manufacturing), which was bought by Capitol Industries, where he stayed as national sales manager until his retirement in 2004.

“Marvin was a brilliant person,” said long-time friend and fellow industry member Benny Wood of Advanced Adhesive Technologies, who added Baron was like a brother. Wood described him as lighthearted, witty and always on the up.

“Marvin was involved in this industry until the day he died. He didn’t just work in the industry; he loved it dearly. We could use more people like Marvin today. He was a great friend and will be missed.”

Jim Walker, CEO of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI), knew Baron through his many years as a strong supporter of the organization and said he will be remembered as “a fun-loving man; one you were proud to call a friend. He was always the one to interject humor, and even in poor health Marvin continued traveling the country selling tools and supplies. Everyone enjoyed being with him. This is indeed a sad time.”

Baron is survived by his wife, Trudy Ann; his son, Michael; his daughters, Lori and Lisa Sue, and his brother, Jeff. Donations may be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association, Somerset, NJ Office, 29 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset, NJ 08873.
