Huntsville, Ala.—With more than 2,500
displays already purchased for its new PermaStone line of luxury vinyl tiles,
Domco Tarkett’s Naf co division is hailing the product launch as “its most
significant introduction in years.” PermaStone not only offers consumers the
look and feel of ceramic, marble, slate and stone, it features Nafco’s
GroutFit. This exclusive technology features a realistic grout treatment giving
the final installation a seamless appearance. “Why have a floor that looks
like ceramic if it’s covered with the tell-tale seams of vinyl tiles?” said
David Cassidy, Nafco’s brand manager. “With GroutFit, you can have the easy
maintenance of vinyl and the great looks of natural flooring.”
In addition to being seamless, one reason for
PermaStone’s easy maintenance, he added, is the surface is protected by the
company’s patented Tritonite wearlayer. “This technology is five times
better than our previous coatings, which is why we have also incorporated it on
all our better and best living products.” Along with a realistic grout
treatment, the five-pattern, 24-color collection copies the growing trend in
ceramic for larger tiles with a 16X16-in. format. Each product is backed by
Nafco’s 20-year Extreme Perfor-mance warranty, along with a five-year light
commercial guarantee, and retails up to $3.79 a square foot.
As a way to showcase the collection, Nafco
borrowed from its popular Design Center to create the PermaStone display.
Measuring 81X32X28-in., the metal stand can be used as either a one-sided wall
unit which holds all 24 full-sized samples or a two-side island display that
splits the SKUs shown on each side. The backs of each sample feature a room
scene, a plan-o-gram and each color available in that pattern. To support the
introduction of PermaStone, Nafco will launch a national advertising and public
relations campaign with shelter magazines. Starting in November, the company
will run insertions in Womens Day Special Interest Publications, with the tag
line, “Will new PermaStone sell well because of what you see or what you
