Today’s progressive hotels are upgrading their guestrooms to become more luxurious and user-friendly. Rooms once with two double beds now offer sumptuous, king-sized luxury beds with cushioned sides. Amenities such as in-room coffee-makers, electric trouser presses and heated towel racks are being specified more and more.

This same upgrade mentality has moved to the bathroom, where today’s guests prefer walk-in showers to traditional bathtub/shower combinations.

“At the hotel level, most guests prefer taking showers to baths,” stated Joe Cook, President and CEO of Tile Redi, Coral Springs, Florida manufacturer and marketer of shower pans for the construction industry. “Walking right into a shower is much easier and less apt to result in injury than having to step over a bathtub wall within an unfamiliar room environment. And glass shower doors are easier to use and more hygienic than traditional shower curtains.”

The national average states that hotels renovate every 8 to 12 years. Installing a Tile Redi shower pan not only offers a logical bathtub replacement. It also allows for the same ceramic tile or natural stone that is used on the bathroom’s floor and walls to be installed directly to its surface, continuing the room’s overall design motif.

Tile Redi patented and UL-listed shower pans are manufactured as pre-formed, one-piece molded shower modules. Complete with fully integrated drains, curbs and splash walls, each leak-proof unit is pre-pitched for easy drainage. By solving water intrusion problems, Tile Redi shower pans inhibit the growth of mold and mildew.
