Las Vegas—Dealers looking for amazing and exquisitely crafted tile to add to their product offerings don’t have to look any further than the Handcrafted Tile Pavilion at Surfaces 2008. The show will be the place to be this month to see “art on display” and gain a better understanding of why handcrafted tile is becoming one of the hottest and highly demanded consumer products on the market.
“Consumers are always looking for variety when it comes to floor covering and accessories,” said Karen Romano, sales manager for Surfaces. “Handcrafted tile adds a more customized look and feel and provides another option to consider when purchasing or remodeling their home.”
At press time, Romano said there were 15 companies exhibiting in the Handcrafted Tile Pavilion.
“Surfaces is one of our top trade shows of the year,” said Rick Barron, owner of Adagio Art Glass of Boulder, Colo., one of the companies scheduled to exhibit in the pavilion. “By exhibiting there we’re able to introduce tons of dealers to our fused glass architectural décor and introduce new products to many of our existing dealers.”
David Marchetti, principal of Zen Paradise of Santa Barbara, Calif., said, “As a direct importer of fine pebble and stone tiles from Indonesia, we need an effective avenue to showcase our unique product line. Surfaces has proven to be the best place for us to connect with developers, architects, tile distributors and designers interested in the design options our products supply.”
In addition to the Hand-crafted Pavilion, there are two live demonstrations titled, “Liven it Up!—Tips for Working with Glass and Metal Tiles” and “Cleaning and Maintenance for Tile and Stone,” at the Surfaces Installation Showcase on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., respectively. Both focus on the growing trend of glass and metal tiles as well as their care and maintenance.
The Handcrafted Pavilion—along with two other new pavilions, New Product and Decorative Concrete—will be located on the lower level in Hall G of the Sands Expo & Convention Center.
Surfaces 2008 takes place from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. For more information, call 800.547.3477.
