LATICRETE, a world leader in the manufacturing of innovative systems for the installation of ceramic tile and stone, recently supplied Sonia King, a world renowned mosaic artist, educator and author, with premium LATICRETE thin-set mortar for a week-long glass mosaic workshop at the prestigious Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Turkey.

King, the author of Mosaic Techniques and Traditions (Sterling Publishing), travels the world sharing her knowledge and passion for fine art mosaics, and was invited to teach a week long workshop at the Glass Furnace in Turkey. The workshop was designed to offer participants an elevated sense of what mosaic art is about and provide each artist with the knowledge to take their skills to the next level. The workshop began on October 14, and ended with an exhibit of each students work on October 20. All of the mosaic glass art was installed with LATICRETE premium thin-set mortar using the direct adhesive method, generously donated by LATICRETE under the guidance of Henry B. Rothberg, co-owner and senior vice president of LATICRETE.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to share what’s happening creatively with fine art mosaics in another part of the world,” said King. “We were very happy with the generous support shown to us by LATICRETE.
