Atlanta—With the upcoming debut of Building Two West Wing at AmericasMart•Atlanta, home of the International Area Rug Market, officials are “looking toward continued growth.”

In conjunction with this new area, the mart’s more than 25 floors of furniture, home furnishings and area rugs will expand to envelope the entirety of Building One including the newly created 250,000 additional square feet, which will be used for new furniture showrooms.

At full occupancy, AmercasMart One will hold the nation’s largest single collection of area rugs as part of 21 contiguous showroom floors made up of home furnishing products. Chas Sydney, senior vice president of floor covering and new business development, noted combining all home-furnishing products in one building will enhance the area rug center as additional cross over traffic/buying will occur. “More and more buyers are attending our home furnishings/gift and area rug markets. It will become more convenient for home furnishings buyers to shop all the product centers in one location and all under the same roof.”

Building Two West Wing is scheduled for occupancy in 2008 and a Jan. 2009 market opening.
