Johnson City, Tenn.—With the latest data from the U.S. Forest Service showing more acres of woodland than 15 years ago in the Appalachian region, the Appalachian Hardwood Manufactures Inc. According to Forest Service data, the Appalachian Forest as defined by AHMI is increasing and there are 2.29 trees growing for every tree that is harvested or dies of natural causes.
