Tavares, Fla.—With its purchase of SuperCut,
Accu-Cut/Brockie International, one of the flooring industry’s largest cutting
equipment manufacturers, has just gotten bigger. “We see the purchase of
SuperCut as an opportunity to increase our customer base and strengthen our
presence with organizations such as Carpet One,” said Scott Brockie, CEO of
Brockie International. “We also look forward to providing SuperCut owners with
the benefits of our service and technical support capabilities. “SuperCut was
the original company in the retail cutting machine industry and developed a
loyal customer base over the past 15 years,” he explained. “Our goal is to
maintain the loyalty of the SuperCut owner through our service and the exclusive
features found on our Accu-Cut line of cutting machines.”
Mark Young, CEO of Central City, Ky.-based
SuperCut, said of the transaction, “The time was right to sell SuperCut to
Accu-Cut. Our customers are now in the hands of a very capable and successful
company. I feel confident they will be pleased with the service provided by Accu-Cut.”
According to Mike Herschelman, Accu-Cut’s vice president, the main purpose of
the acquisition was to “get SuperCut’s customer base. We also wanted to en
hance Accu-Cut’s leading position within the industry.” None of SuperCut’s
personnel will be coming to Accu-Cut in the transaction. He added the purchase
does not include any facilities or equipment, and Accu-Cut would not be taking
on SuperCut’s manufacturing capabilities. “The reason for this is, in the
past few years at Accu-Cut, we have doubled our capabilities and are in a great
position to not only continue to serve our customers at the highest levels but
now we will be able to do the same for SuperCut’s customers. “We expect to
see a 25% increase in business within the next year as a result of this deal,”
Herschelman concluded. For more information call 800/527-7057. —Louis Iannaco
