Glen Burnie—In order to better serve its
members, Flooring Plus has produced a new direct mail program which is available
for use with the group’s Fall Sale Event. The program was created to make it
easier, better and more cost effective for members to utilize direct mail
pieces. The buying group previously printed generic mailers in batches of no
less than 400,000 for its members. With its new program, members can print their
own full color mailers, “for about the price of a stamp,” said Charlie
Parsons, executive director. “It allows individual members to select the type
of mailer and, most importantly,” he continued, “can construct their own
product offer as they see fit with a minimum requirement of only 3,000
pieces.”
An online library is stocked with full-color
flyers and postcards as well as manufacturers’ logos offering members the
ability to create personalized mailers. Also available are predesigned mailers
which support national sales and private sales events such as Flooring Plus’
Lunch and Shop and Ladies Night Out. The program allows members to select mailer
criteria, for example, single family homes, income levels, age, etc. “Members
can access this 24/7 online,” explained Parsons. “We also have forms
available for those members who aren’t comfortable making the mailers
themselves. Those who would rather take the old fashioned route can fax their
information directly to us an we will take it from there. “We have made the
program to be as flexible as possible to encourage participation,” he noted.
In addition, Flooring Plus has added to its offerings a new tag maker program.
Earlier this year, the group introduced a
clear plastic tag holder with clip to make it easy for members to create product
price and information tags. “Making these individually is one of the most
tedious jobs for the retailer. Because of this, it has been well received by our
members,” explained Parsons. “Now our retailers can also print out a variety
of pro fessional looking tags which fit the new tag holders,” he concluded. As
with the direct mailers, members can select from a database of manufacturers’
logos and designs then fill in the appropriate information and print out a
full-color tag. Tags can also be saved into the database for future use. For
