Marietta, Ga.—Several large, regional flooring contractors have recently joined FloorExpo.

Home Solutions, the builder-focused division of FloorExpo, has announced the addition of two Florida-based companies—Spraggins Builder Services and Avalon Flooring—while MultiFamily Solutions (MFS), the FloorExpo group targeting the apartment segment, has added some large players to their group of flooring contractors who service the apartment community. Recent additions to that group include Mike’s Carpet and Contract Carpet Corp.

“As a rapidly growing builders services company focused on major production home builders, we believe FloorExpo and its ‘best of class’ member network will provide us with greater buying power and invaluable operational insights that will elevate our business to the next level,” said Michael Tremain, president and CEO of Spraggins Builder Services. “We are very excited about leveraging the tools and the know how of FloorExpo.”

Brad Fulkerson, owner of Avalon Flooring in Sarasota/Bradenton is another new Home Solutions member. “The builder business is a very demanding space right now,” he said. “Our customers, suppliers and competitors are all becoming extremely large and powerful. We need to be part of an organization that gives us the tools to compete in the changing environment.”

Another new member is Sandy Schuman, COO of Contract Carpet Corp., with four locations in Southern California. “We love what the group is doing for us,” she said. “It fits very nicely with our goals for our business. Project MultiFacet, the best practices program especially for multi-family contractors, is a very powerful tool. Learning the most successful practices of the best in our arena will be a definite money maker for us. I am also looking forward to putting my staff on the MFS on-line training system. This will be a key to accelerating employee productivity.”

Mike Schreiber, owner of Mike’s Carpet, commented on his decision to join the MultiFamily Solutions group. “We have become one of the largest apartment specialists in the country. We have operations covering much of the East Coast with locations in five states. I was attracted to MFS for their training offering and national account development. I expect to grow my business by adding new customers they help us acquire.”

Kathy Turner, vice president of business development for FloorExpo, said the group continues to add select businesses in areas where it needs market presence. “We still have some markets we need to cover, so you will definitely see us adding to our group of the best contractors in the business in 2007.”
