CCFS Launches New Website For Concrete Moisture & pH Testing For Flooring Industry
Article Number: 1604

Atlanta GA—Concrete moisture and alkalinity problems are the biggest obstacles facing what would otherwise be successful flooring installations on concrete slabs. It is estimated that moisture and alkalinity related floor covering failures amount to over a billion dollars in the US each year in repair and replacement costs, damages, and downtime.

CCFS has launched an informative website for their Testing & Inspections Division at www.concretetests.com that the flooring industry might find of interest. The website has information explaining concrete moisture & alkalinity issues relating to floor coverings and testing for such, including:

· Moisture Vapor Emission Rate (ASTM F1869)
· Relative Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs (ASTM F2170)
· Relative Humidity on the Surface of Concrete Floor Slabs (ASTM F2420)
· Alkalinity (pH) on the Surface of Concrete Floor Slabs (ASTM F710)

CCFS' agency provides nationwide testing, inspections, and consulting services for the floor covering and coating industry along with others in the construction industry. Their clients include building owners, general contractors, flooring contractors and installers, architects, designers, developers, management companies, tenants, and manufacturers.

CCFS is one of the few testing agencies in the country with the technology to provide automated data logging of the internal slab relative humidity and temperature recordings during a given time table in addition to the ambient environmental conditions.
