Calhoun, Ga.—Doug Enck, a 20-year flooring
industry veteran, has joined Mannington Commercial as vice president of sales
and marketing, commercial carpet and resilient. He will report to Dick Bierie,
president of Mannington Commercial. As vice president of sales and marketing,
Enck’s primary focus will be on expanding sales of Mannington Commercial
products in the contract marketplace by leveraging the synergies of the sales,
marketing and business development teams, noted Bierie. The Mannington
Commercial carpet and resilient sales managers, along with marketing, will
report to Enck. Enck joins Mannington Commercial with two decades experience in
the flooring industry. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales and
marketing for Patcraft Commercial, a division of Shaw Industries.
In other news, Mannington Commercial recently
held the first session of its newly formed LifeCare Advisory Council at its
corporate headquarters here. LifeCare is Mannington Commercial’s healthcare
initiative focused on embracing health and improving life through appropriate
applications of flooring systems, noted Pam Rainey, Mannington Commercial’s
manager of color development. The Advisory Council is an invited group of
healthcare design experts from across the country that participate in annual
meetings, discussion forums and communications activities to help improve all
aspects of acute and long-term care flooring systems.
The first session’s events included round
table discussions and exercises with key Mannington team members about
healthcare flooring issues such as patient focused care, product education,
industry trends, sampling, colors, maintenance, sales, marketing and the
environment. “Mannington is fortunate to have the opportunity to build solid
relationships with these respected design professionals that truly help shape
the future of flooring in the healthcare industry,” said Rainey.
Finally, Mannington Commercial has launched
Colorpoint and Solid-point, two vinyl accent tiles, and Assurance Modular, a
slip-retardant carpet tile. Offering sophisticated aesthetics and outstanding
performance characteristics, noted Robyn Raff, Mannington Commercial’s
marketing services manager, both Color-point and Solidpoint are comprised of 10%
or more recycled vinyl content. “These unique flooring options—part of
Mannington Commercial’s Premium Visual Tile offerings—are available in a
wide spectrum of colors that enables them to be custom designed for a diverse
range of applications.” Colorpoint’s palette of 18 multi-colored tones
include Raisin, Verdigris, Papyrus, Marina Blue and Jute. Solidpoint’s 18
colors include choices such as Navy, Marigold, Geranium, Forest Green, Sapphire
and Wineberry. Assurance Modular is a slip-re-tardant carpet available in
18X18-in. tiles and 17 colors.
Designed for extra-heavy commercial traffic,
the slip-retardant wearlayer—comprised of microscopic aluminum oxide particles
suspended throughout—helps prevent slips and falls in areas exposed to
tropical moisture, noted Raff. “Another benefit is that Mannington Assurance
Modular tiles are 1/8-in. thick for height compatibility with VCT flooring
surfaces,” she said. “This enables the modular tiles to be used in special
requirement areas, while lower priced VCT flooring can be selected for general
use.
