Alliance launches Color Tile Outlet retail program

CHATTANOOGA, TENN.—Alliance Flooring, parent company of CarpetsPlus, has launched a licensing program called Color Tile Outlet. It provides dealers with the framework and brand identity to create “the perfect in-stock” retail store.

Kevin Logue, vice president of marketing and COO of Alliance, said. “We are seeing a rapid segmentation of floor covering retailers in two categories: those that offer a ‘special order’ design center concept with expert service and installation, and those that offer the value of a broad selection of ‘in-stock’ flooring options at great prices,. We see an incredible opportunity to offer retail brand name recognition along with proprietary in-store systems to create the most effective and efficient concept in the industry.”

With the outlet program, dealers will be able to offer customers a wide selection of brand name flooring at mill-direct prices, in-stock and backed by the Color Tile brand name. The program features private labeling, point of purchase materials, branded merchandise, professional advertising tools as well as several structured systems to maximize traffic flow and inventory turns. Color Tile Outlet dealers will also be able to access running line products from Alliance’s supplier list that service its 450-plus locations under the CarpetsPlus Color Tile, Carpetland Color Tile and Floorco names.

Ron Dunn, co-president and CEO of Alliance Flooring, added the company’s goal is to take advantage of the widespread offerings its suppliers have in hard surface products. “Our full-service retail members will continue to focus on mid-to upper-end quality products, specials and promotions under the Color Tile label. This new program will allow dealers to coordinate and consolidate purchases of first-quality hard surface products as well as take advantage of closeouts, drops and overruns.”

Ryan Dunn, Alliance flooring’s vice president of sales, sees an opportunity to add more than 100 locations in the next 18 months and reach consumers who are not currently targeted by the full-service stores. “Dealers will now have the opportunity to offer consumers three distinct concepts giving them an incredible competitive advantage in full-service retail, direct to the trade and now cash-and-carry retail.”
