CHAGRIN FALLS, OHIO— Johnsonite has developed a rubber tile to perform in environments where oil and grease is found.

Defiant oil- and grease-resistant tile has a unique material formulation that makes the tile oppose oil and grease and help release dirt and grime from the surface, noted Jeff Krejsa, Johnsonite’s director of marketing. “It requires no additional wax coating, which not only cuts down on maintenance costs but also helps prevent both slips and falls.

Defiant was also created to perform under heavy surface loads and will not chip or crack, he added. “The floor helps create a high performance environment that allows individuals to be safer, more efficient and more productive.

Krejsa noted Defiant is a clear choice where safety is concerned. “Slips and falls can be prevented because it requires no additional waxing or sealing. It is the prime choice for quietness, underfoot comfort, durability and cleanliness where a resilient floor is desired.”

Defiant tiles are engineered to work where petroleum products, animal fats and vegetable oils are present. It meets ASTM specifications D471 for oil and grease resistance and F925 for chemical resistance. The 24-in. tiles are available in six solid colorways, and the 12-in. tiles in four standard marbleized colors.
