Houston—For those seeking a flooring option that is easy to install and removable,
Tarkett Specialty Product’s new Square may be just the solution. Square is a loose-lay tile that ensures ease of installation, rotation and removal, and will be among several products the company will showcase at
NeoCon.
Square tiles are recyclable and may be installed without adhesives, providing an affordable, environmentally friendly flooring option, noted
Diane Martel, vice president of marketing for
Tarkett Commercial.
“Square definitely will fill a void in the resilient industry,” she said. “Square is a unique product that is a perfect solution for many commercial applications, especially in corporate, retail and healthcare arenas. The product would also be a great option for trade shows since it is recyclable, and its use would eliminate the waste of discarded carpet at the completion of each event.”
Square can be installed over residual adhesives and most subfloors, even those with a moisture level higher than that recommended for conventional glue-down resilient flooring, noted Martel. “The product resists migration of subfloor contaminants such as paint, glue and stains. And, a calendared layer provides high impact and load resistance, as well as improved residual indentation recovery.
“The fiberglass reinforcement ensures exceptional dimensional stability and optimal resistance to tearing,” she explained. “The 32-mil wearlayer extends wear even in the heaviest traffic areas.”
Square may be installed without adhesives for a temporary flooring solution. And, the product is also sanitized for antibacterial protection. Square’s PUR-reinforced PVC wearlayer minimizes maintenance and never requires wax or polish during the lifetime of the floor. The less water, wax and chemicals used for maintenance, the better option for the environment, she noted.
Square is available in five contemporary designs and offers the look of leather, metal, mineral and wood. The colors provide a wide variety of options and reflect current design trends.
Tarkett Commercial’s new collection of dramatic high performance modular flooring will also be on display at NeoCon. I.D. Moduline, designed for retail, hospitality, healthcare and office applications, offers premium quality, sustainable flooring that emphasizes aesthetics and modularity within a high-performance product that is also durable, cost-effective and easy to install and maintain, noted Jeff Katz, business manager for Tarkett Specialty Products, North America.
“I.D. Moduline is a truly innovative product, manufactured through a unique process, and combines high performance, aesthetics, low life cycle costs and environmental responsibility,” he said.
I.D. Moduline provides designers with creative flooring solutions in a wide range of patterns, colors and formats, featuring wood and stone looks, bold geometric patterns and contemporary aluminum effects. Several designs in the collection feature a three-dimensional effect, giving the floor a depth accentuated with beveled edges on both planks and tiles.
I.D. Moduline includes the following collections:
• I.D. Moduline “Minerals,” comprised of tiles with clean, unobtrusive patterns in versatile color and pattern combinations;
• I.D. Moduline “Metallic,” features tiles with a unique aluminized look that can be used to highlight traditional decors or to create a modern, hi-tech look, and
• I.D. Moduline “Wood,” available in 11 narrow and eight broad planks, with exotic wood and metallic effects, providing an element of warmth to contemporary and traditional decors.
Besides being versatile and stylish, noted Katz, I.D. Moduline floors are easy to install and maintain, needing no seam-welding and featuring a surface layer of tough polyurethane, which makes them easy to clean and resistant to stains and common chemicals; and they also offer safety through the slip-resitant surface.
