| Article | Glen Burnie, Md.—J.J. Haines & Co., the second largest full line distributor of floor covering in the U.S., announced that Bruce Zwicker has been promoted to the position of president and CEO. A privately held company, J.J. Haines has been in business for over 130 years. Zwicker joined the company in June 2003 as president and was promoted to COO in June 2004. He assumes the CEO position vacated by Robert Thompson, who retired in January 2006. Prior to joining Haines, Zwicker was vice president/general manager of a $700 million global chemical business, a division of Millennium Chemicals. His career at Millennium and its parent companies included roles in sales, marketing, technology and supply chain. Mort Creech, chairman of J.J. Haines, said, “The board and I are very pleased that Bruce joined Haines. Working with Bob Thompson to learn our business has helped him become the second non-family member CEO.” Zwicker said, “Haines has a special heritage with strong customer loyalty and dedicated employees. We are preserving this foundation and building new capabilities to make the company even stronger. We are ready to grow.” Members of the Haines executive committee include Rosana Chaidez, vice president, supply chain; John M. Coakley, CFO; Fred J.
