Article Danville, Va.—Columbia Flooring has made two managerial appointments in the company’s manufacturing organization.

Randy Johnson has been appointed to the position of manufacturing operations, engineered products. In this newly created role, Johnson will be responsible for the overall operations of Columbia’s engineered hardwood flooring plants in Danville, Va., and will share in the oversight of the company’s Malaysian operations. Johnson comes to Columbia from Mannington Wood Floors, where he spent the last seven years as plant manager of Mannington’s engineered hardwood flooring mill in High Point, N.C.

Troy Lovegrove has assumed the title of director of manufacturing operations, solid products. Lovegrove, who has held several manufacturing management positions at Columbia since 2000, will now be responsible for the overall management of the company’s four solid hardwood flooring plants located in West Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas and Georgia.

Both appointments are effectively immediately.

“Columbia’s manufacturing organization has experienced tremendous growth over the past two years,” said the mill’s president, David Wootton. “Expanding our management team will enable us to enhance and bolster our continuous improvement processes, which not only benefit the company, but our customers as well.”
