Article Dallas—Daltile has promoted company veteran Harold Turk to president of the tile manufacturer. In his new position, Turk will assume all responsibility for the leadership of the Daltile business and will report directly to Chris Wellborn, COO of Mohawk Industries, Daltile’s parent company.

Turk previously served as executive vice president for the company’s Daltile Strategic Business Unit (SBU). He replaces Wellborn as president, who was recently promoted to COO of Mohawk.

“Under Harold’s leadership, the Daltile Strategic Business Unit has experienced tremendous growth,” said Wellborn. “He has been been instrumental in the development of the strategic vision of the SBU, which includes the addition of many new SSCs, the gallery showroom concept and the growth of our natural stone business.”

Turk joined Daltile in 1976 as assistant manager of warehouse operations. He has since held numerous management positions in the company’s sales and marketing divisions, most recently serving as executive vice president of the Daltile SBU.

As part of the management change, Matthew Kahny has been promoted to executive vice president of sales and marketing and John Turner has also been promoted, to senior vice president of Daltile SBU.

“Matthew and John possess decades of valuable experience throughout Daltile,” said Turk. “Under Matthew’s leadership of our sales and marketing efforts, the Daltile, American Olean and Mohawk Ceramic brands will continue to strengthen and grow to become the epitome of style, value, quality and service in the industry. At the same time, John will continue to focus the Daltile SBU’s efforts on driving customer satisfaction.”

Kahny joined the mill in 1983 as a warehouse trainee and has held a variety of sales and marketing positions within the company. In 1996, he was named vice president of the American Olean business unit. A year later, he was promoted to vice president of marketing for Daltile, where he oversaw marketing initiatives for the Daltile, American Olean and Mohawk Ceramic brands.

Turner first joined Daltile in 1985 as a warehouse associate and became a full-time architectural representative in 1990. Since then, he has held a number of operations management positions, including vice president of distribution and customer service and, most recently, senior vice president of operations.
