Article Lancaster, PA (July 1, 2014) – With the 4th of July approaching, many Americans are feeling patriotic. This brings to mind the importance of buying American made products. The Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection Business Center defines made in the U.S.A. as “all or virtually all” of the product has been made in America; all significant parts, processing, and labor that go into the product must be of U.S. origin.

ECORE International, a company that transforms reclaimed waste into unique performance surfacing, has been producing and selling products in the U.S.A. for 143 years. What began as the Dodge Cork Company is now known as ECORE International. ECORE is also still a family owned business. The company was formed by G. W. Dodge in 1871, and his great, great grandson, Arthur Dodge III is the current CEO and President.

In addition to continuing to make cork products, ECORE is now mining waste streams to create unique performance surfacing. ECORE is North America’s largest manufacturer of recycled scrap-tire derived rubber products, recycling more than 65 million pounds of material each year.
