| Article | (Kansas City, MO) SURFACES 2014 is almost here! CFI announces that 40 installers will be participating in the Ceramic and Laminate/Wood onsite training and certification workshops. Installers have registered from around the world to take part in the installer-friendly, CFI hands-on workshops. T CFI offers another opportunity to be on the cutting-edge of up-to-date installation knowledge. All SURFACES participants are invited to attend the two seminars conducted on Wednesday, January 30, 2014, at the CFI Booth B3687 on the lower level (Bayside) of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The seminars are in the same area where the CFI Training and Certification programs are presented earlier in the week. Those who attend the seminars are eligible to win one of four free registrations to a CFI Training event of their choice. The $495.00 voucher can be presented for any CFI event in 2014. Attendance at one of the seminars is required to participate. Two free registrations will be awarded at each seminar and the winners will be announced. THURSDAY, January 30 at Booth B3687 12:30pm – 1:45pm Jim Walker, Robert Varden and Ed Braile demonstrate methods for aligning patterns achievable by following the CFI Proven Methods of Installation. There are numerous “tricks” that assist installers in achieving a pattern match. Installers who know the methods that work create a finished and acceptable job for the customer and do not leave the office or home in disarray. It is the goal of the CFI installers to provide the ultimate in customer satisfaction every time. Attendees will discover techniques that can be shared with those who provide installation for their stores. As they demonstrate the installation of patterned carpet, the audience will view these skills on a large screen. This demonstration is open to everyone at no cost, but seating is limited. At 12:30 – 1:45pm, Tim Provence presents seaming techniques for resilient flooring. Attendees will view various types of incorrect seams and watch as Tim provides the solutions. Heat seam welding is also included. This demonstration is free and registration is not required. Tim is the Chairman of the CFI Certification Committee and the Western Division Manager for Armstrong Industries with an extensive background in resilient installation and problem solving. CFI Team Members Bob Gillespie and Tony Buckhardt accompany Tim as their skills are displayed on a large monitor for viewing by the entire audience.
