Article Las Vegas—The Floor Covering Installation Contractor’s Association (FCICA) will debut its Spanish safety book—“Empiece con seguridad - Programa de seguridad para Contratistas de pesos” (Start with Safety - A Safety Program for Flooring Contractors)—at Surfaces ’06.

The book comes as a three-ring binder and contains 52 tabs with weekly safety materials and forms to fill out at the job site for any safety related incident.

Subjects range from accident investigation, hazard communication and mold and mildew to disciplinary policy, winter conditions and ventilation. OSHA recordkeeping requirements are also included with it along with the new reporting forms.

“This is an ideal book to have on hand at every job site and a must if you have Spanish speaking employees since OSHA requires contractors to train safety in the employee’s native language,” explained Christopher Capobianco, the association’s chairman. “We will have it available at the FCICA booth #G1538, both in English and Spanish.”
