| Article | Sassuolo, 15th May 2012 - The trip to USA of the Fincibec group brands that participated at the Coverings 2012 trade show in Orlando (Florida) ended successfully. The event is a significant indicator of the US market, which is giving signs of a slight recovery, a glimmer of hope for the future. “Even if it is premature to speak about recovery – says Vittorio Borelli, Fincibec's CEO – the general feeling is of moderate satisfaction. The fair went well and signs are encouraging for the future, although this initial slow recovery of sales in the US market leaves space only for cautious optimism”. Fincibec brought its commercial brands, Monocibec, Century and Naxos, to Orlando granted an exclusive preview of their collections. “The interest shown in our products – says Borelli – is important proof that we are going in the right direction, in terms of aesthetic, technological and productive research”. At the Installation Design Showcase, in particular, the spotlight was on Naxos with its Marble Hill collection. Coverings is now a must-attend event, where installations are set up using ceramic collections selected by designers to create complete and original environments. This year, architect Foreman Rogers, of tvsdesign in Atlanta, created a hotel room inspired by luxury and elegance. Marble Hill with its Sculptur colour, where the veining and glossy features of marble are enhanced just as the natural material that inspired the project, was used to create an element of great visual impact. On the other hand, Monocibec achieved high appreciation for the new Echo collection, made of porcelain stoneware with wooden effects to provide a rustic touch. Inspired by the traditional residences of the most enchanting valleys of the Alps, Echo revisits the charm of old wooden floors, where it seems possible to hear family stories that express warm and cosy atmospheres. ECHO When contemplating the most beautiful, evocative valleys in the Alps, attention is captured by this area typical housing, built with local timbers, in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment. An inspiration, a simple but great emotional impact that Monocibec has turned into Echo, a collection of fine porcelain stoneware with a wooden effect and a clearly rustic touch. Just one size, 16.5x100, is available: an extremely easy-to-use and highly versatile solution to dress up the whole house, a gamut of colours (Badia, Fiemme, Gardena and Siusi) in tribute to the inspiring locations. Moreover, the natural finish is combined with a special grip finish, which looks like the result of a craftsman’s patient work, and makes Echo also suitable for outdoor environments. Monocibec Echo, certified by Bureau Veritas as it is carbon-neutral, and 40% of the mixture contains recycled material, is a product in line with LEED standards. The collection was also given the ANAB-ICEA certification for green building. Neutral colours featuring split stone aesthetics, modular sizes and the high technical performance guaranteed by Century's experience have intrigued the curiosity and interest of the insiders. STONEHOUSE Century presents the new Stonehouse series, included in the larger High-Tech collection dedicated to products that for their technical features and performance are used in flooring and cladding applications in high-end residential settings as well as commercial spaces. Stonehouse proposes an appearance inspired by split stone, available in four extremely versatile colours: White, Grey, Moka and Taupe. Available in three modular formats, 30x60, 60x60 and 45x90, all with rectified edges and natural surface, while the two larger formats are also available with a lapped surface. The Low wall element completes the collection, featuring high grip and the capacity to be used over the entire surface, which makes Stonehouse also suitable for outdoor use. Stonehouse, with marked grains and shading differences creating a natural and sophisticated effect, is suitable for new buildings with a contemporary feel as well as in the recovery of historical buildings. The product's quality and respect for the environment are also guaranteed by certifications obtained from Bureau Veritas, as 40% of the mixture is made from recycled materials, and from ANAB-ICEA for green building.
