Article The National Institute of Building Sciences announced today that McGraw-Hill Construction will take on the prominent role of conference sponsor for Building Innovation 2013: The National Institute of Building Sciences Annual Conference and Expo. The conference to be held January 7-10, 2013, at Washington Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C., will focus on Improving Resiliency through High Performance.

The 2013 conference will be the first in a series of independent annual events that support the Institute’s commitment to bring together representatives of the entire building community to review advancements in science and technology and develop industry solutions. McGraw-Hill Construction attaches its solid reputation for being a reliable and trusted resource of industry information to the Institute’s authoritative source of innovative solutions for the built environment to support the delivery of this event.

McGraw-Hill Construction noted "We applaud the work the National Institute of Building Sciences continues to perform in advancing building science and innovation as well as convening the industry together to help develop industry solutions. Furthering thought leadership and intelligence on key construction industry trends is a tenet of McGraw-Hill Construction."

"McGraw-Hill Construction has long been a supporter of the Institute and we are pleased to have their backing in our efforts to advance building science to build a more resilient America," remarked RK Stewart, FAIA, Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors.

The Institute’s first independent conference in more than two decades will feature established, successful and popular events, including the buildingSMART alliance™ Conference, the Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC) Symposium, the Multihazard Mitigation Council Symposium and FEDCon® – The Market Outlook on Federal Construction, as well as presentations from all of the Institute’s councils and committees along with innovative technology demonstrations, such as the Construction Operations Building information exchange (COBie) and related projects.

"We are gratified that McGraw-Hill Construction will serve as our conference sponsor as their work fits our mission to advance building science and is providing a forum for our programs to demonstrate how we can improve resiliency through the use of high performance measures in our built environment," said Henry L. Green, President of the Institute.
